Position Summary
The role of the Long-Term Substitute Teacher, under the direction of the Assistant Principal or designee, is critical in maintaining the continuity of learning in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. You will be responsible for developing and delivering engaging and effective instruction in your courses while creating a safe, supportive, and rigorous learning environment within the classroom. Long-Term Substitute Teachers are expected to collaborate with colleagues and lesson and unit plan to help students meet and exceed proficiency in content standards based on need. Long-Term Substitute Teachers are expected to actively engage and participate in culture building, including but not limited to the classroom, lunch, recess/break supervision, and hallway norm expectations. Your compensation will be appropriately adjusted if circumstances lead to your return to sporadic substitute teaching.
